Do You Need  Website and App Analytics?

If you want to know everything about your Business then The answer is “YES”.

21st century is the century of technology and every domain of our life has felt it presence and modern day business is no exception. From the last few years technology has rapidly changed the way of conducting business. more and more business are going online easing the life of both – consumers and owners .Strong online presence can be the key to a business’s growth with increased exposure and better communication with potential and current customers alike, but what is the point of a fancy website, app and lots of online activity without a carefully thought out strategy? How can you develop strategy without accurate and up-to-date analysis? This is where web and app analytics come in.

Web Analytics is the process of collecting, processing, and analyzing of website data. Website analytics provide you with the actual reports and analytics on how your site visitors behave once on your website; who they are by their age, gender, location, etc.; how they landed on your site (traffic source); the most popular content on your site; your total conversions; and so on.App analytics can give you all above answers but it also give some more insights like which type of device is generally preferred, difference of sales form web and app can be compared.

Benefits of analytics –

  • Measure Web Traffic

Web analytics helps to measure how many viewers are visiting the website and from where they are coming and which keywords the visitors are using to search products and services.so by knowing this information we can focus on the channel that is proving most beneficial.

  •  Keep a visitors count

Visitor is the number of individual people that visited the site and a visit is number of times a visitor goes to a site. This tool also determines how many times a visitor returned to a website and which pages were given preference by visitors. This tool also tool tells about demographics of visitors so it gives us information which area, gender, and age form large part of our customer base.

  • ·Track Bounce Rate

A bounce is when a visitor visits a page on the website and then leaves the same page without taking any action. Bounce and exit are different metrics for any business to measure and should not be confused to be same. A high bounce rate generally  mean visitors are not finding what they were looking for and they left the site. To improve visitor website journey experience, marketer should keep track of bounce rate for each page and the page with high bounce rate should be improved.

  • Identify Exit pages

Unlike a “bounce”, when a visitor visits a page on website and leaves the same page, an “exit” is when a visitor visits multiple pages on website and then leaves the site. Some pages on a site may have a high exit rate, like the thank you page on an eCommerce site after the purchase is done successfully. But if other pages have high exit rate indicates those pages have some problem and need to be looked into immediately.

Stages of Website Analytics –

Most web analytics processes come down to four essential stages or steps, which are:

  • Collection of data: This stage is the collection of the data.
  • Processing of data into information: The objective of this stage is to take the data and conform it into information.
  • Developing KPI: This stage focuses on using the ratios (and counts) and infusing them with business strategies, referred to as Key performance Indicators (KPI).A Key Performance Indicator  is a measurable value that demonstrates how effectively a company is achieving key business objectives.Selecting the right one will depend on your industry and which part of the business you are looking to track.

  • Formulating online strategy: This stage is concerned with the online goals, objectives, and standards for the organization or business.

So in conclusion by using Analytics you can know what is working for your website and app and what is not. With this information in hand, you can plan fully informed business strategies and grow your business faster. Also with this data you can study market trends and prepare your business for new customers.

Thank you!
